“Son of Friendship”  Gaff rigged sloop.

We were recently contacted via our web site by Mike Kelly who lives near Knutsford, Cheshire.  For some years he has owned and enjoyed this good looking gaff rigged sloop  model  which he believes dates from around 1920.  He is now moving to smaller premises and rather than offering her on eBay,  would like to find a new appreciative owner amongst the Vintage Group who would get her sailing once more.
She measures 28 1/2 inches on deck, 34 inches overall and stands some 43 inches tall.  A brass plaque indicates she was restored by an earlier VG member in 1989,  does anyone recognise this boat ?  There is also a name plate on the stern.  She has an interesting keel shape with a spade rudder, perhaps a later addition.
A Futaba r/c is installed, circa 1990 which Mike reports is working.

Study the photos below and if you would like further information or would like to make Mike an offer (asking £250)  then contact him directly at mikekellyart@mail.com or phone him on 07940 832723
