I bought a hull from eBay about 6 months ago - the
seller new nothing about it. I believe it is a Marblehead (being about that
size). It is a hard chine design built of ply (two chines per side) and has
no markings at all. There was no keel with it (though there is a keel box
that one would slot into) as well as a rudder shaft. It also came with an
aluminium rig - but this looks a bodge that probably wasn't original. There's
no sign of the intention to add vane steering - and as there's no inner workings
- I think it was an unfinished project.
A Marblehead owner has said it maybe a Genie design, but the only mention
of Genie designs on the web suggests they were an R36 design.
Bizarrely, 2 months later, I found an bought another identical hull (this
one with no decks, but the only design difference being a cut-off bow to allow
for an rubber bumper) and different hatch frame positions.
The intention is to build rigs and fins for them and install R/C so that they
can be match raced.
Can anyone confirm what it is and what kind of age (I have guessed mid 70's)?
And does anyone have a rig and keel plan or any pointers for
restoring/finishing them both.

I think that this could
be a Genie. Genie is the M design. There was a very similar looking 36R called
?Cygnet.
Check the boat against
the sections in the attached image.
I have most of the text and pictures from the original how to articles in
Model Boats. The plan is available either from MB or X List
