A boat hull was given to me by
my in laws with the objective to repair and reconstruct the rig. The only
clue I have is a picture (bateau1.jpg) of a similar boat. The picture was
taken in 1949 near Paris. The hull on the picture looks similar to the one
I have (bateau2.jpg). The hulls do not have any rudder which I suppose were
designed for 'free sailing'.
My first objective is to identify the boat in order to find information on
the hull for repair and how the rig was looking. On the main sail there is
the logo of a bird, a swan or a goose is it a clue about the make? The number
on the sail is 172 which could correspond to the height of the boat. The person
height standing behind is around 180cm tall.
The length of the hull is around 50cm with a lead keel. The hull is hollow
which push me to believe she was made from a kit. I have a lot of questions
but so few answers. I would really appreciate if you could help me to find
information on the boat in order for me to repair it.
