MY53 - Old Leady

Can you help me with this boat. It is 24 in long excluding bowsprit and 5 1/2 in wide. Total hull height is 6 in and boat weighs about 6 3/4 lbs.

Hull is carved from single piece of wood, (pine I think) and deck is a single piece of a fine and straight grained wood, probably not pine, secured to hull with 10 screws. All deck fittings, sheet horses (is that the right term) bowsprit saddles, mast tube and shroud staples are brass. Keel is lead and very, very heavy for the boat's size.
The rig was clearly gaff but the current rig (cotton sails) is not original I know and looks a bit big to me.

May well be home made but I would like to get an idea of date and origin if possible.

VMYG Comment:

I don't think this is a commercial product. Not only home made, but home designed as well in all probability. The hull depth is not as big as I would expect, though the total displacement is such that she may be able to hold up her rig. I would be inclined to try her with the current rig before making new sails. The new suit may not need to be smaller.
