MY59
My father-in-law has recently 'dug-out' of his garage an old pond yacht and we are trying to identify it.
In short it looks virtually identical
to the 'my8 Heather Dew' except: there is no name plate and no screw
holes where one might have been. The deck has black lines running fore-aft
along it. The centre 2 lines are straight, the other 8 on either side
follow the curve of the deck. The screw fastening the tiller spring
to the deck is about an inch inboard, not near the bow as on my8. It
is approx. 24 1/8" long, 6 3/8" at the widest point and 7
1/4" from deck to
bottom of fin. The mast is off-white painted 2-piece aluminium with
a brown pointed tip. It is 39" tall.
As far as is known it was bought about 60 years ago. The box it is in is made of thick cardboard, nailed/pinned to a wooden frame.

Response:
Yes, this is an Alexander model all right. The absence of a name plate
is not crucial, as it is clear that they were circulated between models
as a supplies dictated and in the immediate post 1945 period, from which
this boat probably dates, a temporary death of ivorine plates is by
no means out of the question.
