Please can you help: I have recently acquired this vintage pondyachtmodel which is 50" OAL, 11.5" Beam, and 76" in height. I presume this is a marblehead class yacht, 1930's ish? There are sails, which appear to be unused, but one or two fittings appear to be missing and I also would like information on how to rig, although most appears to be there but dismantled - where could I obtain information such as a drawing and where is the best source of any additional fittings, such as turnbuckles/ eyelets etc that I might need? I would like to display the boat as an ornament in my living room. The hull is hollow planking which is attached with small screws and panel pins and appears in very good condition. The lower forward section of the keel is lead. I am looking forward to building her up, so any information on rigging, manufacturer, value etc would be greatly appreciated. There is no name on the boat.

VMYG Response:

I think he's right and its an early M. But the photo is not much help in identifying it. If he wants guidance on what fittings there should be and what they should look like Daniels and Tucker 'Model Sailing Craft' is the title to look for in the library. The 1939 and 1952 editions will have M plans and sail plans in. The 1932 won't.

If he wants fittings or sails we John Cherry or Sails Etc may be able to help
